We have an exciting opportunity to appoint an experienced Engineering and Technical Director to join our dynamic team at Delkia.


Overview of the role

We are seeking an experienced Engineering and Technical Director to lead our engineering and technical teams. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the successful execution of engineering projects. The Engineering and Technical Director will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products and services, meeting both internal and external stakeholder expectations. The role will involve leading and developing teams in accordance with company corporate business strategy as the company grows.


Key responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership to the engineering and technical teams, aligning their efforts with the overall business objectives.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and collaboration within the engineering department.
  • Oversee the recruitment, development, and retention of top engineering talent.
  • Create and mature engineering toolsets and design processes.
  • Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary team, ensuring a high level of performance and employee satisfaction.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages creativity and professional growth.
  • Establish and distil engineering best practices, coding standards, and quality assurance processes from an engineering and technical perspective.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and certifications.
  • Drive a culture of quality and excellence across all engineering activities.

Job requirements

Desired Qualifications / Prerequisites:

  • A degree in engineering, preferably systems, electrical, control or power engineering.
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within engineering or technical management.
  • In depth knowledge of relevant technologies, software development methodologies and engineering best practices in highly regulated industries.
  • Chartered Engineer, ideally at Fellow professional accreditation level.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong business and professional acumen.
  • Experience of high growth with organisation and design skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and develop high-performance teams.
